Fitness Trend To Try: Spinning

Spinning is a workout on a stationary bike that lets you control the type of workout that you want to have in that session. There is nob to adjust the intensity of how hard you have to peddle which leads to more work to push through.

The benefits of going to a spinning class is burning 500 calories or more in a 45 minute setting depending on how intense your workout is. This workout also builds muscle from using your legs and butt and using you abs to balance yourself in the correct position on the bike.

Spinning is a great workout for cardio endurance but it can have the effect of bulking up your legs. Don't fret if you work in resistance training and other exercises while also spinning your legs will get toned but you will still fit into your skinny jeans.

I have been wanting to try spinning for awhile but I was daunted by the trend that seemed to be made for stay at home moms in Montclair. But I decided to give it a try maybe since I was never one of kids who liked riding there bike around town I would enjoy a stationary bike experience instead.

When I walked in there were 20-25 bikes and thank god I was with my cousin who took many spin classes before because she helped me adjust my seat to my body. If you are new or unexperienced ask the instructor for help because sitting on a uncomfortable seat for 45 minutes is not fun.

As the class started I was pumped up by my energetic and fun instructor and also the music. I swear in group fitness classes the playlist is EVERYTHING. And this didn't disappoint as I went up hills and turned my resistance up I felt the burn.

Beginners make sure you stay hydrated and not push yourself too hard. If you need a break just stop peddling or make your resistance lighter.

After the class my legs and butt felt really sore so I made sure to stretch a lot after. I felt like the 45 minutes flew by because of my amazing instructor and the music. If you want an intense workout and are sick of running on the treadmill like I always get you better make sure to try this workout for yourself!
